The 4th World Congress on Mental Health and Deafness, from 28-30 October 2009 will see 3 days dedicated to the exploration of the interdependent relationship between mental health and deafness.
The Congress will be a transformational event that will have a significant impact on the lives of deaf and hard of hearing people. It will promote awareness of the mental health issues faced by deaf and hard of hearing people in Australia and lead a collaborative movement that brings together both the deafness and mental health sectors internationally.
New research will be presented, investigating contemporary practice, delivering outcomes whilst demonstrating how deaf and hard of hearing people can be empowered, connected and achieving.
The Congress theme: ‘A Life to be Lived’, is in response to our focus on all life’s stages. The Congress will feature presentations on infants and children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. We hope to create links amongst all participants, consumers, parents and professionals who will unite for this important cause.
Held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, the 3 day program is accompanied by some superb networking opportunities in one of Brisbane’s key cultural and entertainment precincts.
Come to Brisbane and stay to sample this beautiful city in the Spring! It will be a fantastic opportunity to not only gain insight into the key developments in Mental Health and Deafness, but also enjoy all the attractions that makes Brisbane a great place to visit.
