A discussion I had recently lead to a comment by one participant saying that children who are being implanted with cochlear devices and being mainstreamed are growing up not feeling like they fit in to the hearing world, and if they have had any exposure to the Deaf community, they feel like they don't really belong there either, and this leads to depression...I thought it an interesting viewpoint.
